At Wickford Glass, each creation is a one-of-a-kind work of art, handcrafted from durable borosilicate glass. Inspired by the natural beauty of the ocean and beyond, we specialize in glass starfish pendants and a wide range of unique designs that capture light, color, and movement in striking ways.

Our starfish pendants are carefully sculpted with vibrant patterns and shimmering transparency, making them perfect as jewelry, keepsakes, or decorative treasures. Every piece is made by hand, ensuring no two are ever alike—each carries its own swirl of color and personality.

In addition to starfish, Wickford Glass offers an evolving collection of pendants, ornaments, and custom glass art, all designed to bring a touch of elegance and wonder into your everyday life. Whether you’re looking for a gift, a personal statement piece, or a collectible to cherish, Wickford Glass has something truly special waiting for you.

Frequently Asked Questions

What materials are used?

Wickford Glass pieces are made from rods of borosilicate glass—a strong, durable type of glass known for its clarity and resistance to heat.

To add color and texture, we also use glass frit, which is finely ground glass that can be layered, melted, and blended into the designs. This combination allows for vibrant swirls, sparkling effects, and unique patterns in every piece.

Together, these materials create artwork that is both durable and visually striking.

How are the pieces made?

Each Wickford Glass piece is forged in fire using lampworking techniques. This process involves working borosilicate glass over the intense flame of a torch, carefully shaping and layering colors by hand.

The result is a piece of art that carries both the heat of the flame and the hand of the artist, making every creation truly unique.

Are the designs unique?

Yes! Every Wickford Glass creation is handmade and one-of-a-kind. Because each piece is individually shaped in the flame, no two are ever exactly alike.

Colors, patterns, and details will vary slightly from piece to piece, giving each starfish pendant (and all of our glass art) its own personality. When you purchase from Wickford Glass, you’re not just getting a pendant—you’re getting a unique work of art.

Do you offer custom designs?

Yes! At Wickford Glass we welcome custom ideas. If you’d like one of our starfish pendants or other pieces in specific colors (when possible), or if you have a design idea in mind, we’d love to hear it.

Let us know what you’re thinking, and we’ll work with you to bring your vision to life.

What is borosilicate glass?

Borosilicate glass is a special type of glass known for its strength, durability, and resistance to heat and thermal shock.

It’s the same type of glass used in laboratories, cookware (like Pyrex), and high-end glass art, which means your Wickford Glass piece is built to last while still being beautifully delicate in appearance.

Borosilicate glass lets us create colorful, detailed designs that are both stunning and durable.

How should I care for my glass?

Each Wickford Glass piece is made from strong borosilicate glass, but like all glass, it should still be handled with care.

  • Avoid dropping your piece, as impacts can cause chips or breaks.

  • Be mindful of tables and hard surfaces—don’t bump or slam it into granite countertops when leaning over or eating.

  • Store safely when not in use to prevent accidental knocks.

  • A gentle wipe with a soft cloth will keep your glass shining.

Treat your glass with care, and it will last for years as a unique, one-of-a-kind treasure.

Where are you located?

My glass shop is located in Wickford, Rhode Island. While we don’t have a storefront yet, all of the work is created in a private workshop. Orders are available online, and every piece is handmade with care.
